Questions to Ask Before
Booking Your Banquet Hall
Is the Venue Available?
Venues get booked well in advance. This is why we recommend booking your venue as far in advance as possible. It is not uncommon for venues to be booked as far as a year in advance. Finding one last minute might be difficult.
What is the Capacity?
You probably have an idea of how many guests you will be inviting. Does the venue have the capacity for everyone to attend? The last thing you need if for it to be overcrowded or even worse, too big and that is just awkward.
What In-house Services do They Offer?
Catering is one of the most common in-house services that a banquet hall can offer. Most can offer seating and tables, but what about the linens? Can they provide staff to assist with your event? Some halls can even help out with electronics and other items if you are going to be having a presentation of some sort.
What is the Payment Process?
Some banquet halls offer online payment so it can be easier once you have made your decision. Ask about their cancellation policy in case of an emergency and need to cancel or change the date.
What are the Restrictions?
This could be limited to group sizes or even the type of decoration that is allowed. These are normally restrictions put together by the local fire chief for everyone’s safety. If you are not sure about something, just ask. They should be straightforward with everything.
There are more questions that might come up that would be more pertaining to your individual event. Making sure everything is clear from the beginning is the best way to go so there are no surprises down the road.
